Copper Mountain Daily Snow

Heads up, there may be fresher snow! Read the latest Copper Mountain Daily Snow

Here’s a quick update on Monday afternoon. I hoped that the cold temperatures, winds from the northwest, and additional storm energy moving in from the northwest would create a couple of inches of snow today and another few inches tonight. Unfortunately, we had too little moisture in the atmosphere to create big snowflakes, and instead saw light snow all day with tiny snowflakes and just an inch of accumulation. I think we’ll see the same thing for Monday night. This means that Tuesday morning will offer soft turns, but I don’t think it’ll be a powder day. Bummer, but we can’t win ‘em all! Copper’s snowpack is about 15% above average, so even though we didn’t get a lot of snow today, there’s still plenty to enjoy on the mountain with about 9 inches during the past 5 days.

I’ll write another update on Tuesday morning with the outlook for the upcoming weekend and next week.
