I-70 Powder Report: http://opsw.co/i70report

Details:

Most road surfaces are clear on Sunday morning, with the exception being Berthoud Pass, Loveland Pass, and Vail Pass. These areas saw a narrow band of snow move through early-Sunday morning. The road surfaces are under a snow-packed mix but travel speeds should be close to normal. Here's what we have weather-wise.

Sunday: Mostly dry through midday Sunday. Traffic will begin to pick up on eastbound I-70 as early as 11am and then will be slow moving come Sunday afternoon. If you are trying to avoid traffic and snow-packed road surfaces, I would leave before 12-noon on Sunday.

Sunday Night: This is when the fun begins. Showers will move into the corridor right around sunset. They will steadily increase as we head into Sunday night as we begin to see west to northwest flow. As I mentioned yesterday, the first round of showers will coincide with heavy eastbound traffic. Come Sunday night, all road surfaces will become snow-packed. I would only recommend traveling along the I-70 mountain corridor if you have snow tires AND an all-wheel drive or four-wheel drive vehicle. Travel speeds will be severely reduced. Accidents and pass closures are not out of the question so remember to always check CDOT for the latest road conditions and travel alerts before heading out.

Monday: Moderate to heavy showers will continue to fall along the I-70 corridor through Monday night. The road surfaces will remain under an icy and snow-packed mix along the entire I-70 corridor so travel speeds will be reduced. Monday will be the best powder skiing for the next 10+ days so get out if you can!

Tuesday - Friday: Dry weather will move into the corridor, with temperatures gradually warming each day. With all the recent snow, it will be a beautiful week along the corridor.

Next Weekend: Our next chance for snow will come on Saturday, December 5th. We'll hash out the details over the coming days.

Have a great Sunday and look for another update on Sunday evening or early-Monday morning!
