Winding Down

The last few days have been fun with numerous transitions between snow, clouds, and sun. Arapahoe Basin has reported 5 inches from Monday morning through Thursday morning. Not bad for the middle of May, eh?

After one final day of active skies, the I-70 mountain corridor will enter a warmer and drier period for Friday, May 20th and Saturday, May 21st. Mid-mountain temperatures will rise back into the 50s, with only a slight chance for isolated afternoon and evening showers. This will be perfect for Arapahoe Basin's swimwear parade on Saturday!

This should be a really fun event and I highly recommend partaking if you are still searching for weekend plans! More details here: http://opsw.co/23KoOKw

Come Sunday, May 22nd, we will once again see our weather become more active as numerous weak disturbances move over Colorado through the middle of next week. Temperatures will become cooler and we will see shower activity increase along the corridor. Light snow will be possible across the highest elevations but total accumulations look minimal.

Looking further ahead to Memorial Day weekend, we should stay on the drier side but afternoon and evening storms will always be a possibility. There are then signals that much warmer and drier conditions will prevail as we head into early June. I'll be posting my final update of the season next week in preparation for Memorial Day so stay tuned for that.

As always, thanks for reading and supporting OpenSnow!
