Our first big storm of the season delivered 10-15 inches along the I-70 mountain corridor from Sunday evening through Monday night. My forecast on Sunday morning called for 5-10 inches, with 12+ inches possible for the upper elevations so we'll take it!

We've since turned back to quieter weather on Tuesday, Wednesday, and into Thursday morning. This morning's satellite imagery is providing a beautiful view of Colorado, with snow-capped peaks throughout much of the central and northern mountains. 

Closer to home, this morning's webcam images from Arapahoe Basin are showing snow-covered slopes thanks to our early week storm and abundant snowmaking.

Moving onto the forecast, the rest of Thursday will feature mostly sunny skies and only a few clouds during the afternoon and early evening. 

Our next chance for snow will then arrive on Friday morning. This will be a relatively weak and quick system, with only an inch or two possible through early Friday evening. Gusty winds and slightly cooler temperatures can also be expected before clearing skies return for Friday night. 

Saturday and Sunday will also feature mostly clear skies and warmer temperatures. 

The attention then turns to early next week as a much stronger and colder storm takes aim for Colorado. It will quickly begin to make its presence felt on Sunday night, with chances for snow and much colder temperatures continuing into Monday and Tuesday. If the current temperatures trends hold, we could even see the Front Range receive its first flakes of the season. 

Confidence is very low regarding the potential snow totals and travel impacts but plan for icy, slushy, and possibly snow-packed conditions from C-470 through Eagle-Vail on Sunday night, Monday morning, and again on Monday night.

Friday's system won't give us much but the early week storm will pack a decent punch. Again, we have very little confidence for snow totals so keep an eye on our location, region, and state pages for the most up-to-date information. 

After the early week fun, all signs are pointing toward warmer and drier conditions for the remainder of next week.
