Happy Thanksgiving!

Today will feature partly sunny skies, very mild temperatures, and gusty winds out of the southwest. Highs will reach into the 40s on the mountain ahead of our next round of high-elevation snow beginning on Thursday evening.

Increasing clouds on Thursday afternoon will signal our next system. Thursday night will once again feature snow levels near and above 8,000 feet, bringing rain and a rain/snow mix to the valley floors and to the lower half of the mountain. A cold front will then push into the region on Friday morning and drop snow levels down to between 6,000 and 7,000 feet. Opening day will feature highs in the low 30s and 1-4 inches through Friday afternoon.

Mostly dry conditions follow for Saturday and Sunday but I can't totally rule out a few flakes and periods of mixed precipitation from time-to-time. Mid-mountain highs will be in the 30s.

Changes will then be in-store beginning Sunday night. Mixed precipitation will kick off the event but we should see snow levels drop to 8,000 feet on Monday and down to the valley floors by Monday night. Expect periods of moderate to potentially heavy snowfall through Monday and into Tuesday. We'll go with 3-6 inches for the mountain but stay tuned for updates.

Much colder temperatures settle in for the remainder of the week. Daytime highs will be in the 20s, with overnight lows in the single-digits to low teens. We'll likely see periods of light snowfall through the week ahead of stormy weather for much of the West after December 2nd.

Thanks for reading and have a great Thanksgiving!
