More Snow on The Way. Lots More!

Update

IT'S GONNA GET REAL GOOD ... After we get past Monday.

January 21, 2017, 8:30 a.m.

We have received another 17" of snowfall in the last 24 hours. If you think that's good, wait until Monday.

Late Saturday night we will see the last and biggest storm make its appearance known with winds expected over 140 knots (160 mph) on the crest.

By Sunday, we will have blizzard conditions with surface winds up to 85 mph. Probably not going to be a good day on the mountain, if the mountain is even able to open.

Those of you traveling on Sunday, probably should not, as snow levels will be at or near the valley floors. 395 in both directions will be subject to closure with conditions like what we are expecting.

By Monday morning, the storm will begin to weaken, but still deliver consistent snowfall, with winds backing down as well.

Monday's lows will be 8 degrees, with highs only reaching 15 degrees.

The good news out of all of this is we are expecting 4-6 FEET of snow accumulation between Saturday night and Monday evening. The snow that will fall on Monday, especially in the evening, will be approaching Platinum Powder status, with snow-to-water ratios near or at 15:1, thanks to the expected low temperatures.

So, the call is for Tuesday to be one of the best powder days of the year, possibly in years.

If you are up here now, try and stick around until Tuesday. It will be worth it. If you are planning on leaving Sunday, think twice.
