A Little White...

Summary

The storm that moved through overnight dropped 1-2 inches of fresh snow on the mountain. The weather is cool and breezy today with highs in the 40's. Over the weekend we warm into the 50's Saturday and then 60's on Sunday in town, with a few degrees colder on the mountain. Then next week lots of sun with highs into the 60's on the mountain and 70's in town. The next chance of a pattern change isn't until the end of the month.

Short Term Forecast

We were looking for around 1-3 inches of snow on the mountain from the storm that moved through overnight and this morning.  Mammoth is reporting 1-2 inches on the mountain.  Most of that is sitting on the ground above 9000 feet today.

The weather pattern quickly changes as high pressure builds in this weekend and is over the entire West by the middle of next week.

That will bring warm and dry weather with highs all the way into the 70's by midweek in the town of Mammoth.  It will feel like Summer after having a taste of Winter today.

Extended Forecast

The next shot at a pattern change looks to possibly be around the end of the month.  We are watching this closely to see if we can get a change to a more active pattern that could bring snow to Mammoth mountain in the month of November.

I will post intermittently until we see a change back to a more active weather pattern.
