Christmas Day Update: Quick update this AM with a full forecast coming later.

Today: Cloudy, foggy, and cool for Christmas day with temperatures in the 30's and 40's throughout the region.

Next Storm: Starting around midnight, snow/sleet/freezing rain will overspread the area and pick up in intensity towards dawn. Big question for tomorrow is precipitation type. For areas closer to the major cities (DC/Baltimore), precipitation will start mixed but transition to rain for the bulk of the storm. For areas further west of the major cities, precipitation will start as snow but transition to a mixed bag of snow/sleet/freezing rain with temperatures remaining in the 20's for the duration of the storm.

The potential exists for substantial accumulation of freezing rain and snow for areas in western VA, MD, PA, and WV.
