Spring transitions to winter
Update
It has been a dry and warm three-week stretch to start the month of March, but we’ll end the month on a much snowier note, at least for the northern mountains of New Mexico.
The first storm will arrive on Thursday and continue into Friday. The northern mountains should see at least 3-6 inches, and it could be more if the storm drops a bit further to the south. Also, snow levels will start out high but should lower to at least 8,000-9,000 feet on Thursday night into Friday morning.
Following this storm, Friday afternoon through Saturday afternoon should be dry, then we’ll see another storm on Saturday night into Sunday. After that, at least two additional storms could bring snow next week.
I don’t know if any of the storms next week will be particularly strong, but each could drop at least a few inches to refresh the slopes.
