New snow falls

Snow level down, up, now down

Another storm mid week

Open Snow Inside Story

It was a roller coaster of snow levels, but in the end we got more beneficial snow on the upper slopes than rain. The Pineapple Express mainly hit Oregon with the warmth and rain, but everyone received the seesaw weather pattern. There was snow on the upper slopes from Bachelor/Hood to Whistler. Whistler was far enough north to get new snow down on the lower slopes.

Snow will fall, but the storm is ending, in most ski areas in the next 24hrs -- with 3-8” of additional snow -- a SL of 3000-4500ft ,as the weather stabilizes. Expect a break Monday and Tuesday, then another system from the NW will give us an additional 2-7”, with a SL 3000-4000ft, later Tuesday and Wednesday.

Some NW ski areas are partially open. More will open by Christmas with this additional snow. Call ahead for hours and operations.

Open Snow Look Ahead

After Wednesday a dry pattern may develop but there is much uncertainty in the extended forecast. However, El Nino’s influence is strongest in January and that influence is generally warmer and drier for the NW.
