Snow levels creep up

Open Snow Northwest

A mild weather system, late Saturday and Sunday will bring rising snow levels and moderate rain or rain snow mix to the Cascades. Snow levels will be about 5500 ft. That will mean rain lower slopes, rain snow mix middle slopes and snow up high (a grabby 2-6"). Expect lower SL (by 1000-2000ft) for Whistler and interior BC.

There are a pair of mild weather systems that will keep the wet westerly precipitation conveyor going, off and on (mainly on), through Monday. Sunday night into early Monday the precip will increase and SL will reach 6500ft, easing back down to 5,550 ft later on Monday producing a rain snow mix.

Tuesday and Wednesday will remain mild (SL 4500-5000ft) with a rain snow mix, but more snow up high. Cooler weather will be seen later in the week with a trough of low pressure favoring snow (SL 3500ft) and getting us back on track.
