Daily Snow One Sentence Summary: Swing and a miss - Major east coast storm in the making will pound the Northeast tomorrow through Saturday - here in the Mid Atlantic, we will see a few flakes overnight tonight followed by wind and showers tomorrow as temperatures drop sharply overnight on Friday – no major snowfall in sight.

Today/Tonight/Tomorrow: Basically a repeat of yesterday with temperatures throughout the area topping out in the mid-upper 30’s (closer to freezing in the higher elevations, closer to 40 near the major cities). Overnight, showers, likely starting as snow/sleet, will develop throughout the area before changing over to plain rain showers that will linger throughout the day on Friday, I don’t expect any real accumulations through tomorrow night.

Friday-Weekend: Temperatures will drop quickly Friday afternoon and evening after the passage of a cold front that will be accompanied by showers. Winds will pick up with the passage of the front, making tomorrow night quite chilly and freezing solid any remaining snow. Minus the wind (the only real effect on our area from the major coastal storm that will be battering the NE), Saturday will be picture perfect for skiing throughout the area with scattered snow showers lingering and moving out over the highlands and giving way to bluebird skies. Temperatures will remain below freezing and the wind will likely make it feel much colder, so make sure to bundle up!

Sunday will again be bright and sunny but won’t be accompanied by the nip in the air – temperatures should make well it into the 40’s and offer the chance for some spring like skiing!

Next Week: We continue the flip flop patter we are now accustom to as temperatures moderate and we say goodbye to winter for the early part of the week. Chance for rain mid week before a slight cool down to around average for the later part of the week into the weekend. Overall pattern looks to remain flippity floppity, let’s hope that at least one of these cold periods is accompanied by a real winter storm – the Mid Atlantic is defiantly due for a storm!
