Temperatures will be rising at Idaho's ski areas today and especially on Thursday as a Pineapple Express and Atmospheric River curls into Idaho from Northern California and the South Pacific. Snow levels are forecast to rise to as much as 8,500 feet in the Central Mountains. A cold front will bring snow levels down rapidly on Thursday night, and new storms will bring fresh coatings of snow Friday-Sunday. Five to 10 inches of snow are expected in the highest mountain tops on Thursday.

Extended outlook

Several inches of new snow are expected on Friday - Sunday in Sun Valley, providing a fresh dose of snow after the wet storm on Thursday. It's supposed to be sunny on Monday and Tuesday of next week, with lows in the teens and highs in the 30s on Monday and lower 40s on Tuesday.

Overall, an unstable weather pattern is expected to prevail during Spring Break week, with lower than normal temperatures and higher than normal precipitation.
