First Day of Summer?...

Update

The weather has been up and down so far this Spring.  We have hit 80 degrees a few times, but it never lasts long before another trough or low moves through dropping temps.

The month of May seemed really wet, but the official tally from the Snow Lab was only 95% of average rainfall for the month.

With the thunderstorms it can rain a lot more in some spots than others.  There may have been other spots around the basin that came in well above average.  It seemed like it was raining more on the East side of the lake.

We have dry weather and highs in the 70's this week so far.  But another low will wobble in this weekend and possibly hand around into next week.  So yet again, we will cool back into the 60's and maybe 50's in the higher elevations.

Next Thursday is the first day of Summer.  I'm wondering when Summer will show up for a while, maybe when it starts, we'll see...  I wish all of these lows were moving through during the middle of the Winter!  It was in the 60's in January...

What Do We Do in the Summer?

Just sit around with our feet up... NOT.  Maybe once in a while after working non-stop 7 days a week all Winter.  But we are working hard this Summer on enhancing our Summer app OpenSummit, and we are working hard on getting ready for next Winter.  We are working on developing the new website, and new apps for this upcoming season.  We are always working to try and bring you the best information and most accurate forecasts.

We love your feedback and incorporate it into the conversations as we develop.  We are all looking for the same thing, pinpointing the when and where to be for the best conditions possible.

The RV:

As many of you know, I started a project at the end of the season in my driveway.  I've been working away at restoring a 23 year old RV.  I'm just about done, putting on the finishing touches this week.  I will post the photos when done, likely in the next post.

I'm hoping to use it for a trip around the country this Summer with the family, which I will write about from time to time on here as well.  Plans seem to change a lot so we will have to see how it pans out.  If anything I'm excited to use it this upcoming Winter to travel to the ski resorts and to get you reports from the mountains.

Next Winter:

Still watching closely as we head into the Summer.  Watching to see if and how the El Nino could setup.

Stay tuned...BA
