Happy 4th!

Update

Weather:

Summer has set in over the last couple weeks, and will continue to do so going forward.

We have some cooler air around this week through Friday with highs in the 70's.  We may see some wind on Friday from a trough moving East as the ridge pushes in.  For the weekend we warm into the 80's and into next week.

Now the forecast is likely for smoke as we go through the Summer, and maybe for lightning that could cause fires.  Not expecting any thunderstorms this week.

We did have a forest fire near Reno above Caughlin Ranch on Sunday, and near Boca Lake on Monday.  So the fire fuels are drying out and ready to ignite easily, so be careful as you are out on your adventures this Summer.  Especially with fireworks over the 4th!

The 4th:

We spent many years living in Truckee and going to the parade and the fireworks at Donner Lake.  We have explored around the area the last few years.  I'm thinking for tomorrow we are going to bring the kids up to the Cowboy parade in Virginia City.  Haven't decided on where we will watch fireworks yet...

Wishing everyone a Happy 4th of July!  I hope you all are able to get out and enjoy the beautiful weather.

Tour of the Country:

Myself and the family are in the final planning stages for our big RV trip.  We are cleaning the house, packing, doing last minute adjustments to the RV, reviewing our route, etc...  The current plan now is to leave on the 15th!  My surgery was delayed until we get back, so we can leave soon after my wife's dental surgery next week!

We are planning a big circle around the outer edge of the country.  Some zig zagging through the Pacific NW and all the National parks we want to hit up there down into Yellowstone.  Then heading up towards the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, down to Tennessee, up the Appalachians to Maine, over to the coast, down the coast to Florida, West along the Gulf coast, then through the National Parks of New Mexico and Arizona, to the coast of CA, up the CA coast, and back to Tahoe.

That should take 2-3 months I'm thinking.  The goal is to be back by the 2nd week of October.  I will be posting about the trip on here and you can follow along the Instagram page I setup for the trip, BAs Summer Adventures.

I will also continue to be looking at the upcoming season, and back in time for the Winter season forecast in October!  Then into snow obsession mode for 7 months!

Stay tuned...BA
