Watching the Last Week of October...

Update

I am still watching the last week of the month to see if we can get the storms to dip far enough south to bring us some rain and snow.  Until then we have about 9 more days that it should be dry.

The latest GFS model runs try to push the storm track into Northern CA by the end of the month.  The latest European model run just barely pushes storms as far south as Tahoe after the 25th.  Here is the 2-week precip forecast on the GFS model.

The ensemble control runs of both the GFS and European models are more bullish on troughs pushing further south into CA by the end of the month.

Like I have been saying the last few posts, there is not much keeping the storm track pounding the Pacific NW later this month from dipping slightly south and hitting us with some storms.  So we will continue to watch closely.  Once I see some consistent model runs with storms within 7 days I will jump on the bandwagon.

Stay tuned...BA

P.S.  Since it seems like everyone enjoyed commenting on my last question, I have one more for you while we wait for winter.  I am working with the team on the new website that is coming out this fall and focusing on new products.  Many of you are annual subscribers to the site.  For those of you who aren't, are there features that we could add that you would like to see that would be helpful to you, and would possibly tip the scales towards subscribing?  We would love your input!

P.S.S....  You can only comment from the web browser, so if you are on the app switch over to your web browser.
