Colder Weather and Light Snow Still on Track for Weekend...
Summary:
Colder weather and light snow is still on track for this weekend with a chance for a coating of snow Sunday afternoon into the evening.
In the previous post I went into detail on the pattern change for this weekend. That change is still on track to bring us colder weather starting Saturday and some light snow on Sunday.
What to Expect:
The precip amounts are still expected to be light with the wave on Sunday. Snow levels will be dropping below lake level Sunday evening with the showers. We could see showers Sunday afternoon into the evening.
Here is a look at the GFS total precip forecast as of this morning...
We could see a coating of snow near lake level and a couple of inches in the higher elevations near the crest.
The Change:
The 2nd wave for Monday now looks like it is off the table. We will rebound back to fall like weather next week with sun and highs in the 50's and 60's.
The storm for next Friday is still showing up on the European model, but the GFS has it staying offshore and falling apart as it encounters the ridge. So we still need to watch the trend on that system.
Long-Range:
The weather looks interesting around mid-month as we could see an active pattern for the West Coast.
Stay tuned...BA
