US and Canada Daily Snow

Heads up, there may be fresher snow! Read the latest US and Canada Daily Snow

The weather pattern is stuck, for better or worse!

Current Conditions

There has been no big change in the snowpack during the final week of October. The deepest snow (bases of 1-4 feet) remain in the northwest and higher mountains of California. The northeast also has measurable snow on the ground, where the cold weather has allowed Killington to start spinning their lifts!

The radar from late on October 26th shows that the areas that have snow on the ground are going to get more. One storm is hitting the northwest while another storm will bring additional snow to New England.

The 5-Day Forecast

The snow forecast for the next few days shows the potential for 5-10 inches of snow in New England as the current storm moves through the area. This new snow, along with cold temperatures, should mean additional terrain openings in the near future!

Out west, the Northwest will eventually share their stormy weather with most of the rest of the western US. Expect a storm with significant snowfall to hit Tahoe and Mammoth (California) on Sunday, and then bring snow to Idaho, Montana, and Wyoming on Monday.

Temperatures during the next few days will predictably be coolest for the areas with the stormiest weather, namely the northwest and northeast. In between, readings will be up to 20 degrees (F) above average.

Many long range forecasts looking into mid-November point toward warmer weather continuing for much of the US and Canada. But … 10-15 day forecasts are not incredibly reliable, so let’s hope that cooler temperatures prevail!

Look for my next update on Monday, October 31 … just in time for Halloween!
