Elevation is your friend!

Update

Storms will continue to bring snow to the west (and New England), but most of these storms will bring average to warmer-than-average temperatures. This means that you’ll want to seek the higher-elevation mountains to ensure you see snow flakes and not rain drops.

The snow forecast through Sunday, April 2nd shows that snow will continue along the spine of the Rockies fro Canada south to Colorado and New Mexico. Accumulations could range from 1-2+ feet, but again, be sure to check the freezing level forecast because the air will not be very cold. This is also true in New England, where a late-week storm will bring snow to the middle and upper elevations of most ski areas.

Looking ahead to next week, the map showing the temperature forecast compared to average contains a lot of red, which means above-average temperatures. There should still be upper-elevation snow across the central and northern Rockies early next week, but snow levels will be on the higher side.
