Calming down...

Update

Yesterday really produced up there.  The forecast was for 5-10" in the Cottonwoods.  When I woke up there was only 2-3" and I was afraid we'd be on the low end of the forecast... "Oh well,"  I thought, "can't win them all..."   Welp, the Wasatch and the GSL worked their magic and we saw orographic instability showers with lake enhancement for much of the day with heavy snow at times.  By the end of the day, we picked up 14" at Snowbird and 16" at Alta.  8-10" in BCC.  Not bad for a spring storm!  Or any storm for that matter...

High pressure is building in for today into tomorrow, but a closed low will drop into the Great Basin on Friday.  This could bring a few snow showers to the area but accumulations look light.  It should be a cool day with scattered showers around.  We then clear out for the weekend and could have an extended period of tranquil and warm weather.  Is this the end?  Probably not, usually late April and May offer up a surprise or two.  But, it's definitely a break for the time being.

Next update will be when needed... In general, I'm trending down the frequency and detail of my forecasts.  Time for me to recharge so I'll be ready for next season!  I will do a season wrap-up post toward the end of April.

Cheers!
