Summary: 

Warm and Dry weather will prevail for Turkey Day and continue through Saturday.  A chance for a bit of high elevation snowfall on Sunday in northern Utah.  Another storm possible for middle of next week. 

Details:

Yesterday's weak disturbance dropped a few inches of high density snow in places, 

High pressure has taken control and the moisture had retreated northward for the holiday.  We should be dry and warm thru Saturday.  More resorts continue to open with Snowbasin spinning lifts today. Already open resorts are adding new terrain and overall the skiing/riding is great for this time of year.  

Looking ahead, moisture gradually descends back into the region on Sunday.  Not a ton with this system, but it will be possible for a couple inches of high mountain snowfall from about Provo northward if current trends hold.  This will precede a much stronger system which will move into California next week.  This trough will take its sweet time moving inland, and in doing so is likely to split as mentioned in yesterday's discussion.  The 00z EC went crazy, essentially cutting off the low way out in the Pacific and not moving it inland until next Wednesday, which is a full 48 hours slower than its previous run.  GFS still brings precip mostly to Southern Utah late on Tuesday into Wednesday while this current Euro would bring precip to the entire state but not until next Thursday. This is a warm looking system, so snow levels will likely be high. 

In short, it does appear we'll get something next week but the details are impossible to pin down right now.  Chances are it won't be typical Utah fluff, but we're still trying to build a base so heavy, wet snow isn't necessarily a bad thing right now.   Enjoy your turkey and hopefully your time in the mountains tomorrow...
