Mostly Quiet

Update

Not too much to talk about.  After a very active second half of September and into early October, things are calming down.  General pattern for the next couple weeks will be that of a ridge off the Pacific coast that will allow troughs to drop southeast from British Columbia down into the Northern Rockies.  A typical fall pattern.  Also, a typical La Nina pattern.

The next of these troughs will be late this weekend into early in the week.  Most of the energy will be passing to our north and east, but far northern Utah should be brushed with chances for showers with snow in the mountains.  We should also see a cool start to next week.  Then, high pressure grows in control.  There is a good chance that we don't see any precip for a week to 10 days starting next week.  Temps should be near or above average.  Perfect October weather if you ask me...

Eventually, active weather will return. When it does, I'll be ready to write detailed posts as we head into ski season!
