Vail Daily Snow

Heads up, there may be fresher snow! Read the latest Vail Daily Snow

There was great snow on Monday morning, and I was hoping that we’d see more snow during the day on Monday and Monday night. The wind direction (from the northwest), temperature (about 10F) and storm energy overhead was all aligned to give us another few inches of snow during the day Monday and on Monday night. But, we lacked one ingredient, which was moisture. So instead of seeing big flakes and the snow pile up, we saw little flakes with just barely an inch of accumulation. Unfortunately, this same setup will continue on Monday night, so I dropped the forecast down to 0-1 inch as we’ll likely just see light snow tonight. Therefore, Tuesday morning will offer soft turns, but it likely will not be a powder morning.

Even though most of the snow is over, we have had 15 inches since Thanksgiving and conditions on the mountain are fantastic. I’ll write another update on Tuesday morning with more information about the forecast for the weekend and next week.
