Vail Daily Snow

Heads up, there may be fresher snow! Read the latest Vail Daily Snow

Another two inches of snow fell on Thursday night and that makes 35 inches in the last week! Conditions are still soft and quite enjoyable across the mountain, and the additional two inches on Thursday night will make for delightful groomers on Friday morning. Any lingering snow showers early on Friday should end by late morning, then we should see dry weather for the rest of Friday and into Saturday. From Saturday night through Tuesday I think the dry weather will generally continue, though we might experience a few periods of snow showers as weak storms pass to the north and east of Vail.

Next Tuesday through Friday should turn out to be mostly sunny days with warming temperatures each day. Based on the temperatures and the higher February sun angle, I expect the back bowls to develop a melt-freeze crust, so plan to wait to ski these areas until about midday. Our next chance for a storm will be around Valentine’s Day (February 14th) with perhaps another storm around February 17-19th.
