The northern Rockies go "EPIC"

Two interesting things coming out of Montana and Wyoming this week.

First, Big Sky, Montana is now offering free skiing (if you have an EPIC pass) when you purchase lodging through them. More details in this article. Keep an eye on the forecast for Big Sky and check out the last 30 days of snow history on the tab at the bottom of their page called, creatively, "Snowfall History". For more on storm chasing in the northern Rockies (Wyoming style), check out yesterday's powdery post with tons of pictures and videos.

In Wyoming, the uncertainty of avalanches was showcased in this video of two riders on Puckerface the day after New Years. The first skier hits the line with no problems. The second rider  takes a slightly different path and triggers a massive slide on his first turn.
