Less than Thrilling Forecast

Summary

Since last post my optimism for a busy couple of weeks has faded. High pressure now appears to be me the main player for an extended period of time. There is all of one meager storm to hold out hope for in the next week plus.

Short Term Forecast

Windy conditions develop on Wednesday 12/11 as a dry cold front approaches from the north. Temperatures remain relatively warm and should be a pleasant day on the slopes. Strong northeasterly wind sets up early Thursday behind the front which may pose wind hold issues. Wind decreases through a sunny and chilly day Thursday. Mild temps quickly return late week into at least early Saturday.

Extended Forecast

GFS showing a weak low breaking through the ridge and diving into the Southwest late weekend into early next week, generating some modest snowfall across the region. I'm not buying it and neither is the Euro. Update on this later in the week. Models keeping us dry into Christmas and beyond. Things change quickly this time of year and let us hope something goes our way.
