Sunday Storm Skiing

Update

Breckenridge is only reporting 1 inch for Sunday morning's report but the snow stake cam is showing an additional 6-8+ inches since the 5 AM report thanks to an intense band of very heavy snow.

Get out there and get it!

We'll now continue to receive periods of light to very heavy snow through Sunday evening as the storm rotates over Colorado. Anything that we receive on top of the 6-8 inches that fell this morning will be a bonus.

Following the storm on Sunday, we'll likely dry out on Sunday night ahead of our next storm that will be arriving from the northwest by late Sunday night and into Monday morning.

This storm will not feature a lot of moisture but it will bring a decently strong cold front and winds from the west-northwest. This should provide us with periods of moderate to heavy snow on Monday, followed by lighter amounts on Monday night and into Tuesday. Look for anywhere from 2-6 inches from Monday morning through Tuesday, with Monday afternoon and Tuesday morning being good times to ski the fresh snow.

Mostly dry and milder weather will take over by the second half of the week and into next weekend, February 29th and March 1st. We will be watching for a quick-moving system on Wednesday night and into Thursday so light snow will be possible through Thursday night. Dry weather and sunny skies will then follow for Friday, Saturday, and into Sunday.

Looking further ahead, the longer-range models continue to bring "something" through the western US around Monday, March 2nd, followed by an active pattern as we head into the first 10 days of March. As always, we'll dial in the details as they become more clear.

Thanks for reading and stay tuned for daily updates!
