We'll remain under mostly dry weather through Friday evening as a weak storm slides over northern Colorado. This will bring us cooler temps and gusty winds through Friday afternoon.

Our full attention remains locked onto Friday night through midday Saturday as a quick and cold system slides through Colorado. Our first flakes should show up around 1 AM, with heavy snow quickly ramping up through late Friday night and into early Saturday morning.

We'll likely wake up to 1-4 inches on Saturday morning, with light to moderate snow continuing through first chair and into midday Saturday. Temps will start in the single-digits and maybe rise into the low teens thanks to cold, westerly winds so grab the hand warmers and an extra layer.

In total, I'm sticking with 2-6 inches and I'll be pleasantly surprised if we surpass 6+ inches. The best turns will be found on Saturday morning.

The storm will quickly wind down on Saturday afternoon. Clearing skies will follow on Saturday night and this will allow for the temps to plummet through Saturday night and into Sunday morning. Overnight lows will likely be well below zero and they will struggle to get out of the low single-digits on Sunday morning. Dry conditions continue through Sunday night under partly cloudy skies.

Looking ahead to the first week of March and beyond, we'll remain under mild and dry conditions through most first 6-7 days of March. There will be a slight chance for snow around Thursday, March 4th but not much in terms of accumulating snowfall is expected at this time. Enjoy the sunny skies and mid-mountain temps in the upper 20s to low 30s.

We'll then turn our attention to March 8th through the 12th as storms shift further south and begin to target California. This will bring us chances for snow during the timeframe but as always, we'll need to wait until we get within the 5-day window to start to dial in the details.
