Wednesday PM - Thursday AM Recap

The northern and central mountains reported 3-9 inches on Thursday morning. Steamboat, Vail, and Winter Park were the winners with 9 inches for Thursday morning's report and this was right in line with expectations for being favored under northwest winds.  

Most areas in the northern mountains then picked up an additional 2-4 inches through midday Thursday. I hope many of you were able to get out and enjoy the fluffy powder. I was riding Vail and the snow was "max fluff" quality. It really doesn't get much better than that. 

Thursday PM

After a slight break on Thursday afternoon and into the evening hours, our next wave of snowfall will push into northern Colorado on Thursday night. This system will once again favor the areas that typically do well under cool, northwest flow (Steamboat, Vail, Copper, Loveland, Winter Park).

Look for 3-6 inches at these favored locations on Friday morning and 1-3 inches for all other areas in the northern and central mountains. The main message for Friday is also to just get out there and ski. The snow and skiing quality is as good as it gets for Colorado.

Friday - Saturday

Off-and-on light snow showers will continue to fall through Friday night and into Saturday. Temperatures will rise back into the 20s on the mountains so again, get out there and enjoy!

Next Week

Following a break on Sunday, yet another cold system will slide through Colorado on Monday. We'll then continue to be right on the edge of the storm track through the middle of next week.
