Watch for Winter Travel Friday Evening and Sunday Night!

Update

**You should have chains if traveling over Sierra passes Dec. 14th - 17th**

Friday Night:

The next storm moves through Friday evening bringing the chance for light snow showers over Donner Summit.  Not expecting more than a dusting to an inch of snow, but be prepared for possible winter driving conditions just in case there's enough to whiten the road and bring chain controls.

The Weekend:

Expecting dry conditions Saturday into Sunday.  The next storm moves in Sunday evening around or just after 4 PM.

Sunday Night Storm:

A slightly wetter storm moves in Sunday evening and moving out by Monday afternoon. This storm has the potential to bring several inches of snow over the passes above 6,000 feet.

There will likely be chain controls from Kinvale through Truckee anytime from Sunday evening through Monday morning.  Maybe a bit lower than Kingvale into Monday morning.

Long-Range:

We may be going into a drier pattern starting Tuesday the 18th.  There doesn't look to be any chance for precipitation again until at least the 21st.  But stay tuned for updates.
