Bluebird conditions and warmer this weekend to cap off the season

Summary

Huge high pressure systems aloft are bringing nothing but sunshine to Idaho this week for the last few days of the ski season. Lookout, Silver and Bogus Basin will be open for one more weekend of fun. Temperatures look perfect next weekend for legit spring skiing/riding with high temperatures in the 50s. Lookout is open today with a high of 39.

Short Term Forecast

Pressure map shows the group of highs over Canada and the Rocky Mountains. Those highs are deflecting storms to the south of Idaho and creating lots of sunshine and progressively warmer temperatures heading into the last weekend of the 2020-21 ski season.

5-day cumulative snow map shows no chance of snow in N. Idaho and a tiny chance at Bogus Basin. There's a minor disturbance passing through on Thursday, with a 20 percent chance of snow. No accumulation expected.

Next weekend looks like all sunshine at Lookout Pass, Silver Mountain and Bogus Basin. Temperatures will be in the mid- to high 50s for guaranteed spring corn each day with close-to-freezing temps at night. Get your spring skiing garb ready to roll to finish out the season with style!

Kazoos were ruling the day at Schweitzer Mountain as crews geared up for the last day of the season on Sunday, April 11. Brundage, Schweitzer and Sun Valley closed for the season on Sunday.

I will update the snow forecast later this week as we approach the final weekend.
