Nearing the End

Summary

Mostly sunny and warm weather is on tap for Wednesday & Thursday. We'll transition into a cooler and windier period for Friday into early next week. There's a chance for snow showers on Memorial Day Monday but accumulations are not likely. We'll then head back into a warmer and drier period for the last week of the season.

Short Term Forecast

I've taken a little break from posting since the weather has been generally warm and sunny with no precipitation to have talked about.

For the most part that will continue to be the case but let's get into some details for the final couple weeks of our ski season.

Wednesday - Thursday

Wednesday should be the warmest day we've had thus far this Spring. Temps should be over 60 degrees at Main Lodge and close to 50 degrees on the summit. There is a chance for some isolated showers today into tonight but rainfall accumulations are not likely.

Thursday will be cooler by a few degrees with breezy conditions. Winds could be gusting 40 - 50 MPH out of the Southwest with less of a chance for any precipitation.

Friday - Holiday Weekend

We have a change in our weather pattern starting Thursday evening and that will continue into the weekend. A series of troughs will be digging into the Pacific Northwest and dipping down into California as they progress East.

That will bring our temps down into the 50's by Friday at Main Lodge and the 40's up on the Mtn. By Sunday temps could be as low as the mid 30's on the Mtn. And even by Monday as low as the high 20's. As you can see a stark contrast to today and tomorrow's warm weather.

Winds will be gusty over the summit throughout the Holiday Weekend into Monday with gusts as high as 50 MPH pretty much every day starting Thursday night through Monday.

While precipitation chances are pretty slim throughout most of the weekend there is a chance we could see some snow showers on Monday. I highly doubt accumulations will occur but we could see a coating of snow especially up top and maybe even through the mid-mountain. Main Lodge locations are likely going to stay too warm... but it's not out of the realm of possibility.

The weather will progressively get cooler and generally more cloudy as we go through the holiday weekend. Friday is going to be the warmest day and likely the least windy, but we could still see some clouds that day too. Monday will be the coldest and will feature the best chance for snow showers.

Extended Forecast

We start to warm back up next week by Tuesday as we see temps rebound into the mid 30's and low 40's. Winds should be on the decline by then as well with North to Northeast breezes only in the 10 - 15 MPH range.

By next Friday temps should be back into the 50's with warmer conditions continuing into the final skiing and boarding weekend on the mtn.

At this time I'm not seeing any precip chances after Monday and going into next weekend.

If that changes I'll let you know.

Till the next one... Mike out.
