Outside of Canada, the past week has been fairly quiet for most destinations. The one exception was Alta/Snowbird as they picked up a sneaky 13 inches on Monday, April 5, and into Tuesday, April 6.

The focus will now remain on Canada and the Northern Rockies destinations through Sunday, April 11. It's closing weekend for Jackson Hole but they'll only receive a few inches and mostly wind.

Big Sky and Grand Targhee will be the spots to keep an eye on for fresh turns on Friday, April 9 but again, total accumulations will only amount to 2-5 inches.

Outside of Canada and the Northern Rockies, spring skiing conditions will continue to be the story through Sunday, April 11. Expect crunchy conditions each morning, followed by softer, spring-corn each afternoon. Lather on the sunscreen and enjoy the beautiful weather.

Looking further ahead to the week of April 12, our attention will turn to Utah and especially Arapahoe Basin in Colorado for storm potential. Fresh snow is outlined in the image above and we'll get into more details below...

Extended Forecast

The storm train will shift down from Canada and begin to target Colorado and possibly Utah from April 12 through at least April 16. The image below details the temperature compared to average and you can see that clear boundary down the middle of Colorado.

As of now, keep your schedules open during the week of April 12. This will likely be our best shot at catching another late-season powder day (or two) at Arapahoe Basin, Aspen Snowmass, and maybe Alta/Snowbird.

As always, stay up-to-date with our team of local forecasters. They will provide you with excellent local analysis and help you dial in the details through each destination's closing day.
