Rain Coming

Summary

Two storms are on their way for us, and both will be warm storms. The first weaker storm comes Wednesday night into Thursday morning. The second will be Thursday night and into Friday, and has the potential to be a bit stronger. On the back side of the second storm, the coming weekend will then be quite cold for this time of year.

Details

Two storms are on their way for the remainder of the week. Unfortunately, both storms are looking to be on the warm side and will bring rain to all resorts in the region. Nothing out of the ordinary here though...it is almost April after all.

The first storm will track to our west through the Great Lakes region and will stay rather weak. Rain showers will spread in Wednesday night and will last into Thursday morning. There may also be a period of steadier light rain with this storm as well. Otherwise Thursday will be a warm day as the second storm quickly moves in Thursday night. This one will track through the Mid Atlantic and looks as though it will be a bit stronger, with steady rain Thursday night and Friday morning, with linger showers into Friday afternoon.

Long Range

Behind that second storm, temperatures will drop considerably and Saturday will end up being quite cold for this time of year. Generally, highs will be in the 30's, with some northern resorts not making it above freezing. Sunday will then warm slightly, but still be cool for this time of year. The good news is that there will be plenty of sunshine, which goes a long way to keep things feeling warm and soften the snow this time of year.
