Sunny Monday, snowy Tuesday

Summary

Expect a couple of good ski days coming up with increasing sunshine on Monday, all with low snow levels (1000-2000 ft), but really no new snow, except for Oregon. However, by Tuesday and Wednesday light to modest snow will begin to fall. Then, toward the end of the week, another dry pattern will evolve, which may continue for some time.

Short Term Forecast

Snow showers have ended, except for Oregon. Later today and Monday higher pressure will build in over the NW producing clearing skies and more sun – again, mainly Monday. The clearing will be slow over Washington, today.  There remain respectable lingering snow showers (4-8”) over Oregon (Hood, Bachelor) for much of Sunday. Washington to BC and northern Idaho will see clouds today but increasing clearing late Sunday and mainly Monday for your holiday. Off-piste and groomers will be good with, excellent visibility on Monday, but flat light Sunday. There have been reports of firm packed areas of snow, so be cautious. Midweek, two back-to-back storms will bring new snow, but also rising snow levels (4,000 ft) on Tuesday and Wednesday. Don’t expect a lot of snow, but rather a modest refresh (4-7”).

Extended Forecast

After the snowfall of mid-week, high pressure will build in from Thursday into next weekend. That will mean more sunshine on the slopes and time to zoom the groom.
