Northwest Daily Snow

A little snow, then none
Summary
A low spinning off the coast and to the south will shove minor snowfall into the Washington and Oregon Cascades. By Sunday higher pressure will create a dry pattern for the early part of the week. Then the weather will turn more unsettled toward the middle and end of the week with more snow beginning to fall.
Short Term Forecast
A weather system on Saturday will bring 2-5” of snow to the Cascades with a snow level of 4,500 feet. This pattern is not impressive. We certainly need more snow, as the mostly dry pattern from November has now continued into December.
High pressure will move in for Sunday and continue the dry weather for Monday and into the first part of Tuesday. We are still waiting for a substantial storm with significant snowfall, but that isn’t in the cards for now.
Extended Forecast
By the middle of next week, the weather will turn cooler with a couple of storms moving in. Each snowstorm is rather modest, but the totals will start to add up.
