Increasing weekend sun, powder next week

Summary

Saturday will see mild temperatures and partially clear skies. The snow may be a little sloppy, softened from the mild overnight lows. Groomers are recommended. Sunday will be a spectacular sunny days with great visibility and wonderful views.

Short Term Forecast

Monday will see a new storm move in by afternoon with mainly rain on snow and a 6,500 ft snow level. Not a pretty situation by afternoon, with rain on snow.

Tuesday the snow level will lower to 4,500ft, which means more snow on the mid and upper slopes, but expect a rain/snow mix down on the lower slopes. There will be new snow in the Oregon Cascades too - but snow level trending high

Extended Forecast

By Thursday a new and stronger storm moves in with significant snowfall and lower snow levels (2,500-3,500ft). This storm had excellent potential and will also spread respectable snowfall into the Oregon Cascades. Get ready for an active week of snowfall, I especially like the late week storm.
