Sun Valley Daily Snow
By Steve Stuebner, Forecaster Posted 5 years ago January 18, 2019
More snow coming to Sun Valley Saturday and Sunday
Summary
There's lots of powder to enjoy at Idaho's ski areas on Friday after a big powder day yesterday, depending on location, and several days of powder in a row. Snow is predicted at North Idaho resorts today on top of 2-5 inches of snow overnight (Silver Mountain got the most), and more new snow is forecast on Friday-Sunday, with 16 inches expected through Sunday. There's a slight break in the action at Southern Idaho resorts today, and more snow is forecast to arrive on Friday night and Saturday, with 14-21 inches expected at Bogus, Tamarack and Brundage through Sunday.
Update
Clear skies are forecast on Friday in Sun Valley. Great weather to look for hidden powder stashes off-trail in the trees. They've had over a foot of snow in the last several days, and a skiff overnight, so off-trail conditions should be soft and powdery.
The next storm Friday-Saturday will bring a few inches to Sun Valley, and then 3-7 inches of new snow are forecast for Sunday and perhaps an inch on MLK day on Monday.
Announcements
Live music and a snowboard banked slalom event are among the events on tap for this weekend in Sun Valley. See the Sun Valley events page.
