6" forecast in Sun Valley on Saturday, clearing Sunday for final weekend!

Summary

A resurgence of winter storms in Central Idaho has been bringing new snow to Sun Valley almost every day! Skiers/riders will see 6" of new snow fall on Saturday on top of 5" that fell in the last 24 hours, 15" in the last 72 hours. Snow level will be 6,000 feet at the valley floor. Skies are forecast to clear Sunday, for great visibility to find powder stashes on the final day of the season!

Update

Should be a powdery day on Bald Mountain on Saturday! Enjoy! (photo courtesy Hillary Maybery/Sun Valley Resort)

A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect at Sun Valley on Saturday with the new snow forecast and slightly breezy conditions. Over 6" are forecast at Galena Pass and the Sawtooths. The storm will pass through by Saturday night, and mostly sunny skies are forecast on Sunday. Wow, that should be a day!

Sun Valley is operating the Challenger, Greyhawk, River Run Express, Lookout Express and Christmas Express lifts on Saturday and presumably Sunday. Check the Sun Valley Mountain Report for details.

This will be my last forecast for the season in Sun Valley unless they decide to reopen next weekend. I'm excited to see every new snowflake fall in April for snowpack and summer streamflows. Thanks for reading!
