Afternoon Showers Continue...
Update
Update Wednesday:
Some heavy steady rain setting today as the low moves inland. The snow levels are running a little lower than expected. We have been seeing some snow down to 7k today. We may have a snowfall report in the morning from Squaw as it looks like the snow is accumulating at High Camp. If this band of steady snowfall sits over the area much of this afternoon we could see a few inches of snowfall.
Overall the forecast has not changed as we are stuck in this unsettled weather pattern through next Tuesday with cool air and chances for showers each day.
From Monday:
Over the last several days and the weekend we saw sun and clouds with afternoon showers developing each day.
That pattern will continue this week. We have the low from the weekend over NV weakening today and then being replaced this week by another low moving in off the Pacific. That will bring more of the same weather with sun, clouds, and a chance for afternoon showers developing each day.
Here is a look at the total precip forecast for the next week off the latest GFS model run.
The winds look to remain pretty light through the week with these lows being quite weak. They are just providing enough moisture for afternoon instability and showers. Highs will be around 50 degrees in the upper elevations through the weekend, and near 60 at lake level. Snow levels are higher this week around 9k or higher, but could lower during heavy rainfall.
All of the showers have the mountains turning very green this Spring which is making for some beautiful views. The showers with break of sun have been making for a lot of rainbows around the lake as well.
I am working away on the RV restoration, hoping to finish it by the end of the month. I'll do some posts soon with pictures. Then we will start hitting the road and doing some blogs on our trips around the mountains.
Stay tuned...BA
