Wet/White Start to Holiday Weekend...

Update

Yet another low is moving inland into CA today.  That is bringing in even more rain after weeks of rain.  The difference today is that some colder air is moving in.

Snow levels have dropped close to 8,000 feet this morning as a heavier wave of moisture moves through.

Looking at the webcams some wet snow has been falling to the base of Mt. Rose at 8260' with a coating of snow on the ground.

It looks like there will be a break in the heavier precip later this morning.  But then more precip may push in this afternoon and evening.  Snow levels should fall back to 8,000 feet again and maybe as low as 7k this evening under some heavier showers.  So we could see a few inches of snow on the upper mountains.

It is not uncommon to see some snow on Memorial Day weekend.  The good news is that it looks like we will start to dry out and warm up starting Sunday and into early next week.

It does look like another trough could push in the 2nd half of next week bringing in some cooler air and maybe a chance for showers.

Summer will eventually show up....

Thank you for the suggestions on the RV.  I should have the restoration completed by the end of next week.  All this rain is slowing me down a little.  It is incredibly green this Spring with all of this rain, hopefully that doesn't lead to increased fire fuel later this Summer.

Stay tuned...BA
