Another Week of Nice (Boring) Summer Weather....

Summary

Moisture is leaving the area by Friday with seasonal highs and drier weather expected for the weekend and into next week.

Update

I'm 3 for 3 so far this summer with talking about how little smoke there is in the weekly update and then a fire popping up right after I post. Last Thursday it was the Red Fire down near Yosemite that popped up but we've seen some rain around the region and the fire is still less than 500 acres with better containment now. So the smoke maps look pretty clear again today.

Some people get upset when I post the clear smoke map as they think I can influence fires and control the weather, but I promise you I cannot.

We've had some moisture flowing into the region over the last few days, bringing some showers to the area. There is a little bit of moisture left for Thursday but most showers may stay to our east. Then it looks like we head into a drier pattern again for the weekend and through next week.

High pressure looks like it will build over the West over the next week. That should bring sunny skies each day and summertime temperatures. Highs near 80 degrees at lake level each day. Nice beach days if you are enjoying late summer days on the beach.

Typical afternoon winds are expected each day on the lake with gusts up to 15-20+ mph from the southwest. That typically brings choppier boating conditions during the afternoon. You can see the hourly winds for lake locations on the OpenSummit site and app.

That's all for this week...

Stay tuned...BA
