Spring Showers...

It is cold again today with highs in the 20's and 30's with scattered snow showers.  We could see a coating up to a couple of inches of snow on the mountains by this evening.  Not expecting accumulation at lake level.

The weather begins to clear on Wednesday with temperatures beginning to warm.  We are back into the 40's and 50's by Friday and even approaching 60 at lake level.

For the weekend a system sliding down from the North and to our East is now trending further West.  That may mean a shot of some colder air on Saturday and more scattered showers.  We may see temperatures drop 10 degrees as compared to Friday, and snow levels may drop around 7000 feet.  We could see a coating of snow on the mountains, especially Mt. Rose this weekend if you are skiing there.

Sunday we should start to clear out again.  High pressure builds in next week with temperatures in the 50's and 60's bringing nice Spring weather.

The long-range models do show an area of low pressure sitting off the coast by the end of next week.  That may push in by the end of next week  bringing more colder and and rain/snow showers for Mother's Day weekend.  (Also my birthday)  There have been some powder days on my birthday, the most memorable in recent history was May 7, 2011 with over a foot of snow.

Stay tuned...BA
