This is absurd.

Summary

Additional snow showers brought up to 9" of new snow to the area over the past 24 hours. A break today thru Sunday. Next weak system pushes in on Monday, followed by a STRONGER storm for Tuesday. High pressure may then take over thereafter.

Short Term Forecast

Instability showers and some lake effect brought additional snowfall southeast of the GSL. Alta is reporting 9" over the past 24 hours with 6" overnight. Should have some soft turns up there.  That brings our storm total up to 51" since Tuesday night in Upper LCC.  Quite a memorable April storm!

We are not done yet.  We will have a break today thru Sunday but then our next storm approaches the region.  A weak initial wave will push thru the region on Monday, we could see a few inches of snow in the highest elevations.  Then, Monday night into Tuesday we see a much stronger and colder wave enter the area.  We should see heavy snow above 6000 feet on Tuesday with significant accumulations possible.

You can see both waves in the below 12km NAM graph for the Cottonwoods:

Per this model, we could be seeing totals of 20"+.  In map form, snowfall thru Wednesday:

So if you're looking for the best powder day, it will likely be either Tuesday or Wednesday.  Tuesday should be storm day and Wednesday could be the bluebird day after the storm.  Right now, I'm going to go with 1-2 FEET of new snow.

Extended Forecast

High pressure generally takes control later next week.  We could be done with storms for awhile.  Is Spring finally here for good?
