Utah Daily Snow

Wet Today, White Tomorrow
Summary
Snow showers will be likely today above 8000 feet with rain below that level. A colder system pushes in late tonight and Tuesday with snow levels dropping and fluffier snow for the mountains. We generally clear out later this week.
Short Term Forecast
Yesterday we had our first weak disturbance ripple thru Northern Utah and bring up to 3" of new snow to the region. Today we have another disturbance pushing in along an almost stalled boundary. Right now (8am Monday) we are seeing heavy showers between SLC and Ogden and it is slowly sagging south. We should see a period of heavy precip in the Cottonwoods and PC area today. However, temps are WARM. Looks like low to mid-30s at the base of Cottonwood resorts right now (~8300'), temps at the top aren't that much cooler (~30). So any snow that does fall today is going to be very wet and confined to elevations above 8000 feet. With that said, it could be a fun afternoon of dense pow.
We have a bit of a break this evening into the overnight, then the next wave pushes in for tomorrow. This next wave will be colder and we will see snow levels falling significantly. Fluffier snow for the high elevations on top of the wet snow today. Right now, I'd guess 4-8" today with another 4-8" tomorrow. When you add that to the 3" we've already seen, the storm totals from Sunday-Tuesday night should be 11-19".... Not bad for spring. Last week we got hammered with way more snow than expected. While we could better those numbers, we don't have the extended NW flow this time, so I am not expecting a repeat.
Extended Forecast
We should start to clear out on Wednesday with sunny skies by Thursday and Friday. We are generally entering a quite period for the second half of April. There is a chance for some weak energy to re-enter the region late in the weekend and early next week, but I don't see any additional big storms.
