Memorial Day Weekend Forecast

Update

Late May and I'm still writing ski forecasts for fresh snow!  Old Man Winter refuses to die...

We are heading into the Memorial Day weekend and Snowbird remains open (Fri-Mon this weekend).  I've gone ski touring a couple times this week and there remains a healthy base (135" at Alta-Collins) with fresh snow falling each day.  So far we've seen close to 2 FEET of new snow at Snowbird over the past 10 days.  Snowbird is reporting season totals of 698"... so they should hit 700" today and tonight.

Speaking of today and tonight.... We should see showers increase today and last thru tonight into tomorrow.  The NAM is bullish (probably too bullish) with storm totals:

I would say the most likely scenario is 5-10" of snow this afternoon and tonight. Friday should be very good.  We will see a break Saturday and Sunday (although showers will still be possible).  Next storm pushes in Monday into Tuesday with a few additional inches possible.

We should finally start to clear out toward the last few days of the month and into early June.
