Waiting on Mother Nature

Summary

A stubborn pattern has very little in the way of snowfall for Utah in the next two weeks. We have a chance for light snow next week. Otherwise, we are waiting for December for a more substantial pattern shift.

Short Term Forecast

Brighton is open to pass holders! PC is opening this weekend and several more resorts scheduled to open in the next week. It's happening! That's the good news... The bad news is the weather...

I really don't have much to say about the weather. We will be near average temperatures as we head into this weekend. Unfortunately, there's really not much storm energy to make it into Utah, so we will remain mostly dry. We will be brushed by energy passing to our north and west, but the main impact will be just clouds. We could see a few high elevation snow showers, but any accumulation is unlikely.

Next week, we will have a weak piece of energy Monday night into Tuesday. Again, there's not much to this, but we could see enough snowfall for light accumulations in the high elevations. Latest GFS was slightly more aggressive than the Euro. Euro then has an additional weak wave for Thanksgiving Day or just after.

Extended Forecast

There are some tenuous signs of more favorable pattern in early December but it's far too early to have much confidence in this just yet.

I wish I had more to say, or at least some good news, but right now there's just really not much to talk about.
