Utah Daily Snow

Yikes
Summary
We will remain mostly dry over the next few days. We will have a chance for light snow Monday night and Tuesday and perhaps again late Thanksgiving Day. Major snowfall looks highly unlikely through the rest of the month.
Short Term Forecast
The weekend is here! Today, Brian Head and PCMR both opened for the season. That makes 3, including Brighton, that are now open for the season. Alta opens Monday, and Snowbasin on Wednesday. We are officially underway.
Unfortunately, Mother Nature is not coorperating. We will be near normal temperature-wise over the next week, but relatively dry. Our next show at any snowfall will be Monday night into Tuesday, and it's only a very weak wave pushing through Utah. I wouldn't expect more than an inch or two.
On Thanksgiving, models have hinted at another wave late in the day into next Friday that again, could bring a dusting, but that's about it at this point.
Overall, the next 10 days look pretty dry to close out November. Here is the Euro total precip for the next 10 days:
Only meager amounts here for the state of Utah. Something I look at the ensemble mean as well to see if the ensembles are picking up on something the deterministic run is not...
No dice. If anything, the ensembles are even drier than the normal Euro model. That means we have very little chance of seeing anything other than a couple light refreshers between now and the end of November.
Extended Forecast
Yesterday, there was a bit of hope for December, but that seems to be going away with each model run. The GFS brings in a system right to start December before drying us out. The Euro just keeps us dry then goes full on ridge city for the first 10 days of December. I am really discouraged by the trends. If this were to verify, we may be going a full month with very little snowfall.
But, models shift and shift quickly, so do NOT take this as gospel. We will continue to monitor and hopefully we see a more favorable shift sometime soon. It's very early still and the atmosphere is still revving up for winter.
