Cooler, but Snow Unlikely

Summary

A cool trough will drop temperatures early next week. However, precipitation will remain to our north per the latest models. This means that snow is now unlikely.

Update

Just a quick update on this Friday morning...

Earlier this week, I posted about a cool trough that would be coming into the region to start next week. While the trough is still coming, and we will see a significant cooldown, there likely won't be much, if any, precipitation in Utah with this system, and therefore, no snow. Not a big loss, although I'm sure a few of us would have liked to get a dusting. We do however, have a bit of energy moving through the region tomorrow (Saturday) out of the SW. That will bring a threat for showers and thunderstorms during the day on Saturday, so we could get a bit of rain ahead of the trough.

As for temps, it looks like they will drop a solid 20-25 degrees from where they are today by Monday. The cool air will moderate middle of next week and we will be back up near normal by the end of the week. Just a nice, albeit brief, taste of fall crispness to start next week.

Will update again at some point next week...
