Utah Daily Snow

Summary:
Warm and breezy today with slight cooling on Sunday and continued cooling late this week with chances for light snow showers in the mountains. Perhaps better looking storms possible after Easter.
Details:
It's warm this morning and breezy as a cold front approaches the area for this afternoon. I don't think we'll see much other than wind and clouds from this front, but I can't absolutely rule out some showers in the mountains today. Sunday will be slightly cooler behind the front but still well above normal temps.
Every 24 to 36 hours, we should see a frontal passage through the week. Because of this very progressive pattern, it's difficult to time these exactly, but in general, we should see temps cooling back down to average or even below. Highs on the mountain will drop from the 50s to the 30s by the end of the week. We should also have chances for snow showers at times in the mountains, although accumulations of anything more than a dusting looks unlikely over the next week.
Things may get a bit more interesting after Easter (April 5). The GFS continues to bring troughs into the PNW but keeps the best energy to our north for the most part. The EC, however, has a deeper, slower moving trough at the end of its 10-day range (see below):
Both models should bring us at least some snowfall, but the EC would perhaps be a more significant event. Again, this is all at the very end of the 10-day range, so confidence is extremely low. It does appear that we are entering a more active pattern however.....So at least the opportunities will be there for some Spring powder!
